The literal meaning of Nubra is green. The Nubra valley has the best enjoyable climate in Ladakh. This area of the Ladakh happens to grow a variety of crops such buckwheat, millets, wheat peas and onions. While reaching for this enchanting valley, you will have to travel the highest motorable road in this world that is Khardungla. The elevation of this valley above sea level is around 10,000 feet. The main attraction of Nubra valley are double humped camels also called as Bactrian camels and Buddhist monasteries.

Zanskar

It is probably the remotest area of Ladakh with no connectivity to the main land with proper roads. The residents of zanskar valley use the Zanskar River as their roadway in winters when it is frozen. In winters, the temperature drops down to -40 degrees and it is quite difficult to survive in such harsh winters. The Zanskar valley is surrounded with mountains and can be a good choice for trekking and hiking.
